Workplace
Cambridge Health Associates, a quality holistic practice established in
1984, offers a broad spectrum of integrative healing modalities that
address a wide range of health issues from general wellness and stress
management, to more specific symptoms like headaches, injuries, repetitive
stress syndrome and chronic pain. Treatment and education are available
through an array of services at Cambridge Health Associates including acupuncture,
aromatherapy, chiropractic, herbal medicine, holistic vision improvement,
massage therapy, physical therapy, psychotherapy, yoga, and Pilates
exercise.
We are happy to bring
our services onsite to businesses and corporations wishing to improve the
quality of their employees' work experience, overall health and levels of
productivity. The following is a menu of the types of services that readily
lend themselves to benefitting people at work.
Massage Therapy
Therapeutic Massage provides both physiological and psychological
benefits. By increasing circulation and mobilizing tissues, massage relaxes
sore muscles and can relieve stiff joints, neck and back pain, headaches,
eye strain and insomnia. On a deeper level, massage can temporarily reduce
blood pressure, calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety, and help build a
positive self image by increasing body awareness and attention to good
health practices. In the workplace, massage can relieve tension and fatigue
caused by sitting at a desk, drafting table, or interacting with a
computer, giving renewed energy for effective performance.
Ergonomic Design
and Movement Coaching
Chairs, desks, computers, drafting tables, and phones all tend to dictate
how we position ourselves and either enhance or inhibit movement. Adjusting
workstations to avoid strain is an effective and necessary first step. In
order to create lasting results, Movement Coaching utilizes common
sense concepts and applies them to body mechanics within the work
environment. Simple movement sequences, when learned and brought to tools
such as computers and drafting tables, can reduce bodily discomfort, help
prevent injury, and increase employees' focus for creativity and
production. In addition to learning movement sequences, adapting chairs can
reduce strain by reinforcing optimal alignment. A system of postural
support cushions is available for seating in office, car, or for travel.
Acupressure
Zero Balancing is a
unique system of acupressure that facilitates a state of balance between your
body's physical structure and its energy system. When the relationship
between your body's structure and energy is disrupted, you may feel pain,
ill, or just a vague feeling that all is not well. Zero Balancing helps
your body's natural healing process by enabling your energy to move more
freely within your physical structure. Simple yet powerful, Zero Balancing
focuses on your whole body while addressing specific needs. The result is
reduction in physical pain, better adaption to stress, and a refreshed
perspective and approach to life and work situations.
