I have been the yoga teacher at Cambridge Health Associates (and elsewhere) since 1996, and have studied yoga since 1986.
Teaching yoga is one of the most rewarding, renewing experiences in my life. It feels ever-fresh to me -- topics and approaches for explorations of the body are limitless and fascinating. In April we do a "spring cleaning" that focuses on twists and includes a lymph system massage to help bolster our immune system. In allergy season we do yoga to help combat overreactions to allergens; at other times yoga to help us sleep, battle depression, energize or relax us. Every year we do a class on 'yoga to help prevent breast cancer.' Another favorite topic is yoga for better posture. During holiday season we do yoga that helps us feel strong, centered and relaxed, and we include an acupressure face massage for beauty.
My goal as a teacher is to present yoga in an ever-fresh and inspiring way to my students, to encourage them to make yoga a lifelong practice.
