Micki Kuttler, Professional Bowenwork® Practitioner, LMT
Accelerated healing and pain relief through gentle touch.
After 10 years as a massage therapist and Bowen practitioner in private practice in New Jersey, I moved to Cambridge where I decided to limit my practice to Bowen Therapy as I believe it is the most effective way I can help people heal themselves. My goal in working with my clients is to reduce pain and increase their well-being. I believe it is important to give people the time and space they need to heal, and to help them become more aware of their bodies and how their bodies work.
I began my study of massage in 1998 at Healing Hands Institute in Westwood, NJ. In 2002 I completed a 4 part course in Orthopedic Massage with Whitney Lowe which deepened my understanding of how massage helps the body heal injured muscles and tendons, and increased the effectiveness of my massage work.
Then in 2003 I experienced my first Bowen session and was amazed at how 2 sessions a week apart resolved both my chronic shoulder pain and pain from a cracked tailbone! It was the gentlest work I had ever experienced, and yet it had the most remarkable results!
I enrolled in The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA) training program in New York City and became certified as a Professional Bowenwork Practitioner in January of 2004. I have since continued my studies of Bowenwork with Ossie and Elaine Rentsch, Alexia Monroe, and Dan Amato, and also broadened my Bowen practice with Gene Dobkin’s Bowen Bridge courses.
I have used Bowen to help clients recover quickly from back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, neck pain and restrictions, knee pain, ankle sprains, and digestive issues. I’ve also worked with people with long histories of fibromyalgia and other more generalized pain syndromes, and found that Bowen gently helped them feel better and increased their overall well-being and ability to function normally.
