Counseling, Astrology & Psychotherapy

Counseling and Psychotherapy are general terms used to describe the process of working on problems or areas of stress with a trained practitioner. The relationship between client and therapist is an important aspect of treatment, as it is very important to establish trust and rapport in order to do the work. Generally it is through talking with the practitioner that a client gains insight into their difficulties, better understands their motivation, finds more appropriate ways of coping, and enacts changes in their thinking and behavior. Some types of psychotherapy and counseling utilize other forms of communication such as writing, drama, artwork, dreams, or music. Treatment can be short- or long-term, one-to-one, in pairs, or even groups.

Channeling

Channeled message sessions are given by a medium. Mediums establish a connection with a client's energy field and gather impressions, intuitions and insights. The medium interprets the information they perceive and share messages relevant to the client's life. Mediums may call upon or receive assistance from trusted vibrational or energetic beings, known as guides, in channeled message sessions.

Jungian Analysis

Jungian Analysis facilitates what Jung called the individuation process, which is a natural movement toward wholeness. This wholeness is achieved through uniting two aspects of the psyche - the conscious mind with the unconscious mind. Issues and concerns brought to a session by the client are explored through the lens of these forces. Dream interpretation is often used to gain insight into what is presenting.

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a general term referring to the therapeutic interaction between a practitioner (psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or other trained professional) and a client or clients for the purpose of problem-solving, behavior modification, or achievement of a greater degree of emotional well-being.

Self-Regulation Therapy

Self-Regulation Therapy, or SRT, addresses the imprint left on our bodies and nervous systems by past traumas. If excessive, the protective energy, generated by the nervous system to deal with the trauma, can remain frozen leading to chronic, painful physical and emotional patterns. SRT helps your nervous system and body release these imprints, restoring the system to health and balance.

Solution-Focused Psychotherapy

Solution-Focused Therapy focuses on what the client wants to achieve from therapy. Together, the client and practitioner identify manageable strategies for change that can be implemented in the here and now.

Spirituality

Spirituality has to do with that which animates life, bringing vitality and meaning. It is related to the experience of "soul" and the "breath of life" but is independent of any religious doctrine or tradition. As a dimension of psychotherapy, spirituality poses the question of the "why" and "wherefore" of life. Many people have a need to feel connected to, enlivened by, and/or contained within a larger purpose or consciousness. In my work with people, I am open to discussing these larger issues.
