YOGA THERAPY

Based on the holistic science of Yoga, this system addresses physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual imbalances. By applying all 8 aspects of yoga practice (the asana postures being one), the body, mind and spirit is brought back into balance. The 8 aspects include guidelines for healthy living, physical postures for a healthy body, breathing exercises to calm and energize the body, meditation and withdrawing the senses to still the mind and allow for concentration and looking inward, and concentration, peace and a recognition of the connectedness with all human beings and nature. By integrating Contemplative Psychotherapy, there is an emphasis on mindful awareness and emotional wellbeing. In essence, this approach promotes self-awareness, introspection, self-acceptance, cognitive and behavioral change, as well as a deepening connection to self and others.
