Intermediate Yoga with Barbara Lyon

About the Barbara Lyon Yoga Series

Intermediate Yoga is a Kripalu style yoga class for experienced students. Deepen and hone the basics while exploring more challenging poses.  All classes are taught in the Kripalu style and follow a semester-long arc. Each semester begins with a focus on stretches and twists and then builds in rigor and complexity. Beyond this basic structure, every semester is different. Barbara's classes are responsive, integrating the needs and interests of her current students, influence of current events and even the season. Visit Barbara's Facebook page to find out the theme of an upcoming class.

Class Testimonials

"Barbara Lyon is a born teacher. She has that rare ability to create a learning environment that is totally stress-free and student friendly! Although her classes include poses that challenge students, each student is encouraged to advance at the pace he or she needs and is comfortable with." - C. L.

"I've been taking Barbara's class for 7 years or so, and it's not an exaggeration to say that it changed my life. She's such a patient, careful teacher: my body makes sense to me now in a way that it didn't before. If you want a small, gentle yoga class with a lot of personal attention, I can't recommend this class highly enough!" —S.M.

Restorative Yoga with Beate Grieben-Frances

Restorative Yoga is a very gentle form of yoga. In class we use blankets, bolsters, blocks to support the body in gentle stretches. These are generally held for several minutes, supporting the opening and softening of tissue and allowing for breath to deepen and flow. This promotes an experience of deep release and relaxation.

Restorative Yoga can be practiced by anyone, from beginner to seasoned practicioner . It can compliment  bodywork and can be used therapeutically to  support the healing process of many conditions (sometimes in a private session).
